    Default ISP Recommendations

I have a friend that is currently using rabbit for ADSL internet - a real cheap plan as he has not needed to do much online - just checks email and minimal browsing. $14.50 for 70M per month

He is currently looking to move up and get something like 200M and of course pay a little more.

We assume that doing a bundle deal with the phone line (phone currently at about $60 per month) might also be a good idea.

Does anyone have any experiences or advice on what or where to go to.

I would suggest that you go to ADAM internet for a low usage low cost plan, not a bad service.

What is his phone bill like, maybe you could look at Naked ADSL and get rid of the phone line all together and have VoIP services can do that for $49.95 per mth with internode and $10.00 of VoIP calls Free

To give you a better idea either need a phone number or need to know what exchange he is on to give you a better idea of plans around.

Hope that helps you out a bit more.

    Cheers

Agreed - it also makes my stomach turn - Most definitely not going anywhere near Telstra. Sol has got his money, and yep the service expensive and also crap.

If you looking for stable and reliable service, I found IINET to provides quality technical support and ADSL speed.

They are more expensive then other providers but it depends on your purpose, I always say "you pay for what you get".

PS: Telstra like to rip people off and aim for business use, however they do have good speed too.

Have found an article in the April PC User magazine - It looks like aaNet is probably the go.

Having said this my friends current ISP provider is using a very basic ADSL from Rabbit $14.50pm.

Since the upgraded service from Rabbit is the same as aaNet it is probably best he simply upgrade with his current ISP anyway..

    Thanks for the replies anyway
