iGO8 8.3 for OZ released

Folks,

Just heard that iGO8 8.3.2.70321 (December 17 2008) has finally been released with Navteq Q3 2008 AU map.

It comes as a package from and costs AU$209.

All we need now is for someone to upload the content and then we can get the correct iGO8 8.3 version from other forums etc.

In the meantime, incremental versions Sensis R15.1 and New Zealand R4.1 have been released for iGO8.0. It is available from the link below. All credit to Megaduck99 who released this update.

I loaded the software on to an sd card and installed the software. When I attempt to run iGo I get a no languages error. What have i done wrong. Thanks

Solved: Added old language file to /content from iGo7. Now runs

Folks,

Just an update on the new 8.3 maps & other issues found with 8.3.2.71348 SW.

The 8.3 new maps for OZ (& probably NZ) seem to be missing the speed limit data (or at least lots of it). Megaduck has reported this to the supplier he obtained it from & we'll see what happens next.

This means that the on screen speed limits don't work as well as the speeding alerts. However the speeding when approaching speedcams does work.

If you are getting the spurious message "shutting down in xx minutes" then put this in the sys.txt file.

I think it is a bug in this version. This feature is supposed to allow auto shutdown when power is turned off on a PNA but it seems maybe they haven't got it quite right yet.

If you are trying to get TTS to work on 8.3 then the 8.0 TTS files don't work properly. Look on ppcwarez for 8.3 TTS files from jetmouse. These TTS voice files however are not modified to increase the volume like to 8.0 voices have been. So the 8.3 TTS is a bit low in volume.

I'm playing with the US TTS voice files to increase the volume, will update later.

Great to hear you guys are on the "Speedcams" case ... with those this would be one the best packages out there ...
I've also read that you may want to move over the old Australia.dem and poi files from the old 8.0 version to get these into the program ...

Hi Dazza, Thanks for the upadate, I have been facing the same issues, but atleast you got the TTS to work, mine does nothing no sound at all. I have followed what jetmouse 8.3 instructions to put files in the directories mentioned. Please guide me with those again if it is not a bother. Thanks and hope you come up with solutions to use this new to Aus 8.3xxxx. Cheers!
