Default Can only print to WiFi printer with 1 PC of 3

    Hello there,

I've already spent several hours on this.

We have a desktop and 2 laptops all running XP connected to a LAN with the desktop and one laptop cabled and the other laptop wirelessly. All have full connectivity and are in the same workgroup and have file and printer sharing.

We set up a Dell V305 WiFi printer using the installation disk on all three.

The desktop was first and will print a test page wirelessly selecting it in Printers without any problem .

The other two will print using the USB cable but won't wirelessly. The error log in event viewer has this for one:
win32 error code returned by the print processor: 2 (0x2)
    and this for the other:
win32 error code returned by the print processor: 87 (0x57)

When I try to add a printer, looking for networked printers comes up with nothing.

I can ping the printer with both machines wirelessly.

The printer doesn't show up in workgroup computers, even after activating 'show icons for networked UPnP devices' (the router does)

Does anyone have advice on what to try next?

    Thanks in advance.

did you set up the printer as a network printer connecting through the router, or as a peer to peer connection on the desktop ?

if the desktop is set up as a peer to peer connection directly, the others won't connect while the desktop is powered up.

the correct way to set it up is through the router.

    Thanks for the replies.
The setup cd uses a PC to get the printer to detect the wireless router and transfers the settings (SSID, encryption keys etc) via USB cable.
Then you unplug the cable and you're wireless.
I will check the ports and try a few things and post back.
    Thanks again.
