Well i bought one yesterday brand new for $250 (retail is $377 at JB) so i thought it was a reasonable buy, i would have bought a Kogan but they are out of stock still till June and is the same price. And the reason there are so many for sale still boxed and unused is Samsung were giving them as a bonus with their larger tv's.

But it still comes back that if they were really good wouldn't the people buying the TV's keep the bonus Blu-ray Player if not why not? Is the player Region fixed?

From what i have read a lot of those people have PS3 consoles so why bother keep it. I have a BDP-1500 and have found no real issues providing you throw away the included HDMI cable and use a better quality one.

Is the Samsung HDMI cable that bad ? i have only watched 1 bluray movie so cant really comment but it looked fine to me. I am happy with the player and the AVI's that i have converted to DVD which then gets upscaled in the player look much better than i expected.

Not bad per say. But i had a lot of flickering issues whilst loading a blu-ray movie my samsung series 6 LCD kept switching back and forth displaying NO SIGNAL before properly loading. This was easily fixed with a better quality HDMI cable

Ok, i have noticed it does that for about 2-3 seconds , might have to borrow a better one and see if it makes a difference.
