Thanks conan,
Worked first time, but I havn't been able to play a dvd straight from computer. Where you able to do this or do I have to convert them to the hardrive and save then into the My video folder.
Add a media centre to your Wii to play DVD's, avi's, music etc to your TV from a PC.
Easy to set-up just watch your firewall/antivirus settings.
You need the internet channel.
Connect the Wii
1. Connect your Wii to your TV.
2. Go to the SHOP channel on your Wii and download the Opera browser, if you do not already have it. When the download is complete, the Internet Channel will be added to your main Wii menu.
3. Select the Internet Channel from the main Wii menu. Type in mycast.orb.com into the Opera Browser, and enter your Orb login and password.
4. You’re done! Your Wii can now stream media from your PC to your TV. Be sure to leave your PC turned on in order to access the photos, music and other media.
Note: If you get a spinning circle when you attempt to stream audio or video from your Orb PC to your Wii, you may have your incoming TCP port 80 blocked by the software firewall on your Orb PC. Make sure you create rules to enable Orb applications to communicate through this port. For more information on how to do that, see our KB article “When I try to stream inside my LAN, the player on my client device (Wii, etc.) never connects: it just hangs or times out after a while”

When I go to shop channel it wants to do an update. Will this update do anything to my firmware downgrade.
If I want too,I can, I will
What firmware are you running? I was already running 4.0E and had loaded HBC and usb loader perviously, I wasn't asked for the update.
Note, to D/L the internet channel you need 500 wii points.
Cost me $15.00 for 1000 points.
D/L Galactica with the 500 left.
i just use mplayerCE installed on as a wad using a forwarder.
