How did you get to type your question?
What do you have, desktop or laptop? What happens if you press ASDF?
If it's laptop, do you have something like FUNC or FN key on your keyboard?

When you do things right, people won't be sure that you have done anything at all

I use another computer to post this question, as figure kept on coming up instead of letters from my computer. one thing i notice though, if i keep the FN key pressed, the keyboard type normal letters as it supposed.but as soon as i get my finger off the FN key, the problem start again.

    Is it a laptop?
Did it just start doing it by itself?

This happens on my Dell plus Asus laptops after using wireless keyboard/mouse.
You will see the purple numbers coming up on the actual keys. For Dell I have to press the white Num Lock key to stop this (As it does not have a purple one.) . On the Asus I have to press the purple Fn key plus the purple Num Lock Key to stop.

Try this and let us know how you go. Basically you have to release the Num Lock.
