New Dreambox Options

Hi Guys I have a HUMAX currently running with a Gamma card. I want to replace it with a Dreambox that hopefully isnt to expensive can anyone give me a model that works well. I would also like to share at some stage so a LAN connection would be good.

DM500s = $170 delivered, pre-flashed etc

Dreamboxes will not run a Gamma card in the card slot.

In the DM500 ( the cheapest ) , you need to run a modified image that allows you to run the card via a card reader in the the serial port at the back of the box.

Other DM boxes with a cam slot can run the card in an Irdeto hardware cam in the cam slot.

Thanks Guys. Is there any box you know of that works like the HUMAX where the card just pops in the slot but has sharing options over LAN. What box system is mostly used with you guys?

Starting to see there are issues with some DM500 clones trying to hook up a pheonix to the serial port! This is the only way to run a gamma on a dm500 - but only if you can get the serial port to talk to the pheonix.

Or another option is to hook up a season interface and a serial to ethernet (BF430) converter to your humax and have it connecting to your 'card server' which would have your gamma connected to it through a phoenix.
