    Default Love the beast.

    Disappointing.

The story of Eric Baner growing up in Melbournes northern suburbs with a group of mate that got together to work on his Ford XB coupe.

It follows a little of his rise to stardom, the making of money to fuel his passion in motor sport and his coupe and its destruction in the Targa Tasmania.

Some great insight into the mindset and soul type attraction with boys, their toys and mateship.

The only good i saw was the ability to explain to our partners what make us guys so attracted to our cars.

Some good interviews with Jeremy Clarkson and Dr Phil that were from funny to eerily spot on.

    Very b grade...will become a 7 day hire quickly.

And that s comming from a Aussie-Croat from Melbourne thats into motor sport

When you do things right, people won't be sure that you have done anything at all

Try buying a rusted out wreak today and see what their worth. You will be shocked.

I did mention a XB Coupe to my boy 6-7 years ago as a father son project, he didnt think much back then....today he is kicking himself.

There is a scene in the film where one of Bana's mates makes an offer to buy one off a real redneck (you should see his heffer partner) and the guy said quote "If i sold the car i would have to turn to taking drugs".

The movie explains the strong soul type bond between man and machine.

sorry missed this first time round...

have watched it a couple of times.....

I lived next door to a family that drove nothing but these cars, xa's & xb coupes, in fact i bet if I drove past there house now, I would see one in the driveway (been yrs since i been by and they had one then), my brother had an xc which was a bit of a rocket at the time.

I enjoyed it, I like Erics attitude about things. thought the story was ok. his mate annoyed me a bit, especially when trying to buy a car of a dude.

pity he did not end up getting it back on the road? but at least the TB got going again.
def worthy of a perusal but once you watch it a few times, it becomes less and less interesting...
