Default NBN connection to Strata Plan apartment buildings

I am interested in how the physical connection of the NBN is going to happen to apartment buildings. I will use my residence as an example. We have a Unit in a complex with 26 apartments individually owned on strata titles. There is one MDF then distributed to five stories of apartments in two wings.

I imagine there be one cable from the street feeding into the MDF cabinet, but what is the plan from there?

    Cheers

Basically the same as how the existing copper cable is currently distributed.

There is usually a multi-fibre cable from the street to a main distribution cabinet.

From there it will probably go to a distribution cabinet in each of the two wings, then onto a sub distribution cabinet on each of the floors, then to individual apartments.

Fine that is the overview, what I would like to see it the equipment. What will the PCD and NTD look like and where will they be located? How do they plan on putting a PCD in and distributing it to 26 different units? Where is the NTD for each unit going to be? This is in an existing cabled brick and concrete building that is now all sealed up.

I did post link to another forum that has pictures of the PCD and NTD for ordinary houses but obviously got nuked. I would love to find the same for a Strata Titled premise.

    Cheers

It's basically the same as a copper distribution system.

The main difference is a single fibre can carry multiple services for distribution at building and floor level.

Have a look at the NBN Co website and if you're really interested, visit an NBN Co Discovery Centre and see the gear installed in various configurations.

Default NBN connection to Strata Plan apartment buildings

Cheers thanks MTV. I hear that if liberals get in the whole NBN will be toned down somewhat. MDUs will only get copper etc....
