    Default How change port and baud rate in IGO 8.3?/

    Hi all ,,I,m having a bit of a hassle getting IGO8.3 setup with my proper baud rate and port etc.

    I have one version that has the proper settings Port 2 baud 4800. but I cant seem to find how to change it in another 2 diff versions I am trying ...

    I checked out the sys text ,Actually swapped them over to try but still nothing .when I go to settings/GPS etc I can see the port and baud rate settings but I cant edit them ..

    Is there a sys txt command or similiar that I have missed somewhere ..??

    At the Moment the non working gps reciever is set to Port 1 Baud 4800

    I need to chsange the port to 2 ..

    any clues amongst our brainy members ...

    IGO8\save\system.ini
    or disable auto in settings/GPS etc, then you can edit it.

    Thanks for the other options ,diver ..I couldnt find the necessary txt in

    Save/system ini ...But I tried something simple and it worked .I just added this to the sys txt....[gps]
    port=2
    baud=4800
    source="nmea"

    Its unbelievable I have found that the main bulk of IGO probs stem from the sys file ..Even more annoying is when you geta "new Update' version etc.It comes with sys txt of 2 lines ..
    Would be more benificial to include a working sys txt with all Uplaods ,But this is only my opinion.Nothing more .Could save aheap of frustrating hours.

    Thanks again mate cheers ..

    I found by going to settings/gps,on second page,and unticking"gps enabled"

    it came up with "autodetect",i clicked on that and it found the correct port,and baud rate automatically.

    Hope this helps.

    No Worries Mate,I was glad to be able to help you.

    I think what happens,we download a copy of a "working" unit,that has already set the port,and baud rate for its "origional unit".

    We come along and put the program into a unit with a different port/baud rate,and although it says "gps selected"it will never find the satellites,Until we untick gps selected,and auto detect again.

    I am only guessing at what happens,I am a looong way from some of the experts here.

    Cheers Mate.

    +1 Go to GPS in Menu, turn it off, and then auto detect. Worked for me with Aldi Go Cruise as well.
    But then I went into the TMC function, and disconnected the GPS receiver with an audible "GPS Disconnected" and it lost it. So I had to do the whole Autodetect all over again. This time it picked a different COM port and Speed! But it's locked up 3 satellites and it's changed from Brisbane to the city I am in, so it is working. Even if it does think I'm doing 1-2Kph ENE on the major arterial across the park ....with it sitting on my desk connected to my PC!
