Ok what i am trying to do.....i have the speedstream connected to a minitar wireless switch. My camera PVR is connected to this thing via ethernet. Do i need to port forward in the router or the switch? I wish to forward a port to a dyndns address, otherwise the dynamic IP from my ISP will not allow me to view my cameras unless i know the IP address.

Dynnamic DNS is only used to direct inbound packets to your changing Wan IP address.
To set up Dynamic DNS all you need to do is turn it on in the router/modem & enter your DynDNS account details.

You then need to setup port forwarding in your router/modem to redirect all the inbond packets that are addressed for that port to a specific IP address on your local network.

example: will be converted buy the dyndns service to what your current Wan IP address is. example: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:12000.

This then gets routed by the internet to your modem/router were it will be sent to the port forwarding rule that you have created in your Modem/Router.

Let say the the port forwarding rule is that port 12000 equals 192.168.1.100 your PVR.

    Hope this helps

i am unsure of the ip address of my PVR, should i be able to find it thru my router. Shouldn't there be a spot in the router that shows all machines connected to the router and the IP address for them?
