Does anyone know if this is possible with a card from a Cable IQ ?
Mine recognises the card as NDS and the serial number but channels still come up as scrambled

I have posted this question recently in this thread but got no answers.

Have any users of the Strong 4910 used self-powered USB 2.5" drives and found the drive does not power up for recording?

I have used 2.5" Western Digital 320GB & 500GB self powered drives with the Stong 4900 over the last 6 mths with no issues at all.
So I would I be correct in assuming the Strong 4910 to be the same?

Or is this a problem only with the Mediastar 9100?

Apprececiate any feedback as i'm trying to decide for a friend which decoder to go for.

I've only used 2.5" drives with the Mediastar and not had an issue.

The strong box picked up the serial number without any input from me in fact had even dropped the last number off.. Maybe I should reinsert the card and input the serial manually

the 4910 is working rock solid with foxtel HD channels on orange card

smit cams work rock solid with optus aurora and foxtel orange for some reason

SCM cams arent working aswell for some reason

no glitching when recording foxtel and watching foxtel - had people complain on other Twin HD models

we recommend using a western digital 2.5" or 3.5" as they are a lot better quality ...

never had an issue with a WD for using PVR

if you havent bought a HDD yet - for reliability i would get a WD

How's everyone going with the HD channels re sound, I only get sound on the sport channels, the HD movies have no sound. Do I need a toslink cable and a 5.1 surround sound system?

Update, did a rescan and all working . also found that if I re-order the channels using NDFedit I have to do a blind scan to get the HD sound working again.

Have another look as there is an ethernet port. I don't know that you can do anything useful though once it's connected.
