    Default Ford AU11 vacuum leak?

Annoying little problem is when I put my foot down to go up a steep rise my vents close. Is there an easy way to check the system. I have checked the tank & no obvious leaks.
    Cheers.

    G'Day Cobbers,
This is certainly not my expertise, but if the vacuum is derived from the inlet manifold, it is easy to find.
I was taught this little trick by an Aircraft Mechanic. Motor set at idle.
Put petrol/alcohol in an oilcan or sprayer and gently squirt over the manifold joints and lines until the motor revs up.
    Only takes a few minutes.
Every one was astounded when I used this on a Government Fairlane many years ago, and found the leak in the valley manifold gasket. It used to whistle.
Kindest Regards, " The Druid ".....

I had this problem twice on my EA Ford.

The first time it was a very narrow hard plastic tube had come out under the bonnet. It was the one that ran the main vacuum for the heating/vent controls.

The second time it was a split tube.

When flooring your car the vacuum in your intake manifold drops because the throttle butterfly is wide open, chances are you have a loose/split hose, the drop in vacuum is not enough to keep your climate valves in the position you left them.
