Install a USB hard drive to your Wii.
Just installed a 250G hard drive to the Kids Wii, I think the max is 500G.
Every game I have tried so far works great with this app.
You need the homebrew channel and it should also work without a mod chip.
All the info here.

hmm if only i wasnt falling asleep and had more time!!
Nice one conan just done this myself works awesome specially with usb 2.0
didnt think this was possible yet
You can also use Wii ISO installer to install ISO's from your PC straight to the WII's usb drive.
Nice !!!! Hey conan is there anyway to copy 1 hd to another ?
This looks awesome, can't wait to try it!!
Thanks
This works brilliantly. Faster loading times & all games now easily accessible from a HDD. No need to have discs lying around everywhere.
The USB HDD doesn't even need to be that large as most games become significantly small than 4.7GB in size.
Yes you're right most game dvds are 4.37G but when loaded onto the Hard Drive some are much less one game was only .3 of a Gig. After loading around 25 games I have use less than 30G. I have had around 5 game so far that won't load but still very happy.
Would like to here from someone with an un-modded Wii to confirm it also works.
did my mates yesterday, just used the twilight hack and installed usb loader, put about 10 games in no probs even put in 6 burnt games and still no worries, used 32g of space, its too easy dont even have to pull the console apart.i forked out $145 for a chip, clip and a usb gecko about 12 months ago to wait 2hours just to get an image of the game and now i can load them into a hdd in under 20 minutes some in as little as 4 minutes
My Wii is un-modded (ie Its NOT Chipped), running System Menu v3.4E, using Homebrew initially loaded with the Twilight hack. I've seen reports that this still works with System Menu v4.0 too, providing Homebrew is already installed.
Have tried 8 games so far myself with no problems. Biggest was 1.4GB in size, smallest was Wii Play which is only 0.3GB. Backing up a game to the USB HDD is fast too; takes about 5 mins on average.
Found WBFS 2.1 to be much better than "Wii ISO installer" for loading ISO's from your PC to the Wii Hard Drive and very fast 1 or 2 minutes much faster then using the Wii's dvd drive and also saves on wear. With this app you can also rename the titles you add to the hard drive, format the drive and extract the ISO's back from the hard Drive.
You can choose to load multiple files at one time to really speed things up.
Enjoy.
Thanks urban_s0ulja
Yep. Just download the files, load onto an SD card, and run an original copy of Twilight Princess to install Homebrew. Takes 10 mins all up. No need to ever open the Wii.
Tried with 15 or so games now and all work faultlessly. You could get by without ever needing to use the Wii DVD drive again.
Dang, I've got to get onto this - it sounds awsome!
Can anyone tell me what is the maximum size HDD that is compatible? Any particular brand or models that are not compatible?
I have just had a go at this... am using a 3.5" HDD with converter formatted to WBFS with 6 games on it.
all is installed but when booting the loader with the hdd connected it stalls. did this happen to anyone - I am thinking that there must be a compatibility problem with my ide-->usb converter. I have used several loaders with the same results.
anyone experience something similar.
