Take it back to them ASAP and go nuts...and change it over for something non-LG
Hi All
Well on Saturday i went and bought a new LG Plasma from Harvey Norman with an extended 5 year warrenty. I get home, set it up and all is working good, TV is great.
Come Sunday morning, watch some TV next min screen just dies, wont switch back on, even the little light indicating the TV has power is gone. (Now this is 1 day after purchase).
I have tried:
1. Using the power cord from my old plasma
2. Trying both cords in different sockets
3. Holding down the power button.
Nothing works.
I am now very fed up and would like to return it to HN.
Does anyone here know HN Refund/Return policy (Their customer care line is not open on Sunday) as after calling LG today they indicated that the best they can do is schedule in a repairer. After 1 day i would like to think i can get a refund or a new product.

should be sweet with the return.... my brother had an issue when he bought an LG LCD from them (or it may have been the good guys)... they had it for a 2 weeks mind you... in fact when it came back, he was told that there was nothing wrong with it.... he is still scratching his head over what happened.
If you feed ducks at a pond, chances are your bound to feed a goose or two without even knowing it.
Yeah as Ramjet said, take it back and go nuts, do it straight away as the longer you leave it, the less chance you have of just getting it changed. Leave it too long and they will send it off and you will have to wait.

Will be calling HN first thing in the morning. Should i be calling the HN claims number on my warrenty or the store and sales person i dealt with?
Just want a working TV, problem is carting the damn thing back down 3 flights of stairs.

they have replace or give refund within 7 days from purchase .. do not accept we will send off to get repaired bullshit ! ...

LG shit brand especially for Plasmas. Take it back and get a different Brand.

Well good news, i called up the salesman. Told him the story. He checked stock and told me to come and collect a brand new one this afternoon.
Am now a happy customer

I just read the title "Plasma TV Died after 1 day use" and though LG automatically.
Get another better brand or a LG certified diagnostics tool (baseball bat).

Here are the instructions how to use the diagnostic tool, note the banging into the wall technique....must be a LG factory repair tech.
