Default NSW Police can now hack your PC

for those who live in NSW read this:

The NSW Government has proposed an amendment to the Law Enforcement (Powers and Responsibilities) Act 2002 which would, with a Supreme Court judge's permission, give police the authority to remotely access a suspect's computer for seven days at a time. Police would not be required to inform suspects for up to three years.

The full text of the amendment can be found .

Looks like most of the good security providers have that covered.

    Maybe launch an attack back.

for anything to get a hearing in the supreme court it would need to be pretty serious, i dare say the cops would know your daily movements & more about you and your friends n family already than you'd suspect already.
So i don't think ma n pa's PC security is in real jepoardy.

You're right mate, the average person has nothing to worry about however if you are a suspect involved in any type of electronic suspicious activity, they have the tools and now the law to give them access to your private files.

I honestly think it's a good thing. For the sake of our national security cops & intelligent services need to be ahead of the crooks technologically not behind them.

I agree however as long as its used just for that and not abused , history will tell you that it's not the case.

I used to have a friend who sent me lots of v. explicit jokes & pics.

She would use the 'cc' instead of the 'bcc' and I would see a lot of @police.nsw.gov.au addresses!!
