Laptop (Eeepc) + Wireless USB broadband with optus - bigpond - virgin or dodo
I need to access an IP Camera during the day at work. I am constantly on the move and have a PDA / Phone running Windows Mobile 6 but it does not have wireless.
What options are open to me and at what cost ?
TIA

Trust thyself only, and another shall not betray thee.

one of those wireless dongles, reports of about $30permonth but most are 12/24 month contract based & from what i've seen if you don't use your monthly allocation it doesn't rollover.
Laptop is not an option , forgot to mention that. It would have to be a phone or pda option. All I can think of is GPRS as I cant think of anyway that I can use a usb wireless internet dongle on my PDA ?
three have $39 blackberry plan
check it out3gb of data with a "49 cap" worth of calls.
Free blackberry as well worth $280 (what i sold mien for)
ditch the bb and put the $$ towards your contract.
PS i dont think Video over IP will work on GPRS....
You would need a HSDPA compatible handset
what urban_s0ulja said, I'm on this plan as well.. using my dopod d810 looking to upgrade that soon probably to a touch hd
otherwise have a look on wp, there's a thread about virgin mobile bb sim kits which is like $2 for 2 sims and it includes 300MB of data.... $10=3GB data ... just have to keep activating new sims .... LOL
oh, and there may be some codes still around that's valid for $100 credit on your 3 account and if you like a referal to 3 you get an extra $25 plus if you go through buckscoop you get an extra $64 back
sure adds up
The ad for the camera states ( and shows ) that you can view and control the camera via GPRS on a smart phone.
Does anyone know any plans that are generous with GPRS ( in allowance and cost ) ?
