    Default Analog Countdown at last.

An Australian.Gov.au website is being advertised on TV regarding the eventual closure of the Analog TV service.
The site lists all areas and when it is proposed to close them down with Mildura in Western Victoria being the first to go starting from January 2010 and being completed by June 30 that year.
According to a media report, Mildura was chosen as being 'Digitaly Excited' and having a '70 % take up of Digital equipment'.
I didnt even know there was a competition to be first.
The last listed to go is Sydney/Gosford, January to June, 2013.
The site doesnt state if there will be an advertising campaign for some weeks/months then on the last day, off goes the whole district at once,or do the translators one by one leaving the 'base' to last.

I'm currently in the US and the advertising is much better.

A simple "You will need to get a set top box, or a digital ready TV' type campaign with an easy website

We mustnt rush this bambbam, after all we have only started digital broadcasting in 2001.
Also there is a law here that strictly prohibits those who are affected to being told anything at anytime.
This is the Law of the Right Hand not knowing what the Left Hand knows.
The basic idea is that by not being told anything, you cant be worried and have any reason to complain or worse, ASK a question that might cause the need for an answer to be required.

digital tv... both transmission & equipment rollout has been an absolute disgrace in Australia. Too many people have parted with way too much money for equipment that does half the job half the time. And what have they in return from the TV stations & those who provide TV? sweet FA.
I only wish the government had the balls to turn the analogue system off 3 years ago.

Mildura is first to go over after January 1 2010.
Best to pick somewhere out in the boonies to be first, just in case!!!!
Can you imagine the screams if they flip the switch first in either Sydney, Melbourne or Canberra and it went pearshape ???

    We are ~1st~

Because they wouldn't give us channel 10 on analogue, only on digital.
