    G'Day Cobber,
I can't imagine that it would be any different to the standard 3 mm or 5mm Leds.
The only thing I would suggest is that you check the voltages before the dropping resistor and at the led. It may not be the Led itself that has failed.
Depending on the V supply it should have a series dropping resistor of about 330 Ohms if the V is around 6 Volts. (orange/orange/brown).

Thanks, let me dismantle the unit to test the voltage plus the resistor.

I have replaced with a green LED only cost 20cents whereas the original was a specially biuild in LED, so I drilled 3mm, insert the LED & sticky tape the back as support & its working fine now.

    Thanks

Fantastic. You could try Araldite if it comes loose. Not too sure whether that would stuff the led though.

Thanks. I like to find out I have 2 external front door unit, one in the front gate & the other on the front door . I am having trouble with front gate unable to get the new speaker to work & I had even re-soldered but to no avail. I have a picture of what the PCB look like, can some one help me troubleshoot. Could it be because the distance between the 2 from door unit is about 15 meters?

    Thanks
