    Default Ciggy Lighter Doesnt Work

    Hey Guys
Ive got a Ford Falcon EL i think it is.

The ciggy lighter doesnt work, ive lost the actual lighter bit a while back but i want to use it to power some 12V devices. I pulled it out and measured the two wires at the back of it and im getting -/+ 12V. However when i plug either a car charger/gps charger into the socket i get nothing

Any ideas of what the problem is? Checked all fuses as well all seem to be good.

    Cheers

maybe the contacts aren't touching whatever it is you're trying to power up?

Most likely the terminal on the side, inside your lighter socket (-) needs to be bent out a little more to contact the side of whatever you are plugging in.

It could be not going in deep enough to contact the positive end, and as mentioned may be dirty inside the socket too.

Its just a contact problem if you have + and -.
