downgrade from firmware 4.0e

Is there a release to downgrade from firmware 4e to 3.2.

I was running 4.0e with cIOS36 rev9.

Downgraded using this guide

Which is fine if you've got HBC installed already but if you don't have that you're screwed I'd say, although if you've got a chip in theory it'd be possible to create a wii bootable DVD with the wad manager on it but I have no idea if it would work, I'm certainly curious though.

I think if you have the homebrew chanel installed you may be able to.

Does anyone know of a way to downgrade without the homebrew chanel? My son upgraded to 4.0 & now he would like the HBC instaled.

As far as im aware(might be wrong on this i havnt looked into it for a while) you can only currently downgrade from V4.00 if you had cISO Down grader already install on your system prior to the V4.00 update.

Homebrew channel will still load up in V4.00 however no programs will run.

There should be a downgrader very soon im guessing....

Bugger he only upgraded yesterday while I was in the process of getting twilight princess.

looks like he is stuck with 4.0 for now then.

Will keep my fingers crossed for a downgrader in the near future.

Good Post Urban, I along with Rocket had our software upgraded recently prior to all this info coming out.

Lets hope they can find a way to downgrade

Basically if you have previously downgraded from 3.4e to 3.2e etc you can downgrade from 4.0e to 3.2e. But otherwise your out of luck for the time being.
Im pretty sure something will come along v.soon

The sad part for my son is that he knew not to do any upgrades but he didnt realise what he said yes to when he wanted to access the Wii shop channel.

Guess some lessons are learnt the hard way.

as i find 4.0 to be very good as long as you have HBC installed.
the storage of .WAD files on the SD card is very handy.

I've just done this with my nintendo wii (PAL) and it works Fine.

just to confirm ,i used the soft mod on my new 4.0e it worked perfect i now have hbc and back up channel installed , just follow the guide. wii /pal/LAH 112.

I followed all of the steps, and now have Homebrew channel + Wad Manager on menu. It still appears that my system is still on 3.4 not 3.2. What have I done wrong to cause this not to change. I thought you didn't need to do the twilight hack anymore because of that BannerBomb method.

Same here, Back up loader working fine on a system 4.0E. Dowlaoded to 3.5 but still says 4.0E. The only issue I have s I can't get USD HDD working.

Bannerbomb can downgrade from 4.0, no zelda needed
