An elderly lady I speak to in a yahoo chatroom was saying it takes an inordinate amount of time to download files like music or video's from Youtube.
She was talked through a speedtest and she advised us it showed for her to download a 5mb file, it would take 35 minutes !!!!!
We got her to run the test again but still came back with similar results.
She said thats how it was.
If she was on dialup with old wires that would be pathetic but she lives a few kilometres north of Brisbane in a cabled area. I understand that when her husband was alive they had cabletv installed but thats gone now and I believe that just the telephone and internet are on the cable.
I am guessing it was a bundled service, TV,Internet and telephone.
To say the least she isnt technically minded so it was hard to get exact details.
We all suggested that firstly she get the computer checked out and if its ok, to call the cable company and get that checked out.
Could too many files/inadequate HDD space cause this sort of problem?
Any other ideas we can pass along to get this working properly would be appreciated.
