Talking LNB query, i feel so newbie!

HI everyone, i have just ordered a Strong 4658X from Itech world, going to be hooking up to a standard 65cm gutter mount dish, but i have a few questions

    1) What is the best LNB frequency range etc to buy for general viewing in NSW

    2) Is there any point in fitting 2 x LNB's so i can receive more channels like Aurora with the appropriate card of course and also for any other FTA?

    THanks all

    Hi

    Have a read of

In general 10.7 LO is the standard, but a 11.3 LO will work for C1 without a problem at this stage as the lowest TP is 12305. It is all to do with bandwidth.

If you understand the 22k switching and or your STU supports it, and most do. You can use a uni LNB, but it will not make any different for C1

A dual / quad LNB just let you connect more than one STU to the same SAT. There are a number of ways to have multi STU's on one SAT, but a multi output LNB is sometimes the simplest. A single or multi LNB will not have any affect on Aur0ra as it comes from C1 as well. It is just a matter of STU's connected to the dish.

You can also have multi LNB's on a dish

This allows you to receive more than one SAT on a dish, but you will need to do more reading first. There are quite a few threads on multi LNB dishs.

I hope this helps. I tried to keep it simple.

    Cheers

With 65cm dish multiple LNBs will not be benefitial, unless you want to aim only at one satellite and use multireceiver setup.

It would then be better to use a dual lnb! You can use a 65cm for 2 sats. I think I got pas8 and c1 from memory.

sharp lnbs are the best and most reliable i have seen them for around $40.00, You can use a duel lnb holder and align pass8 and c1 . C1 will get you auruora and austar or foxtel ect, pass8 will get you selectv . What services were you trying to get as there are others ethinics ect

I'm no expert but fail to understand how you can receive both the C1 (156o E) and PAS8 (166o E)satellites using once dish and a dual LNB? Can someone please explain?

ozetek. not 1 x dual out LNB, but 2 x normal LNB's. hence a "dual LNB setup"

Set it to single on the decoder and the LO will either be 10700 or 11300, there should be a sticker on the lnb telling you which it is, if not, try one then the other.

If it is a universal, set the High LO to 11300 and the Low LO to 10700, job done

    Hmm

When I last checked a uni LNB LO low 9.75 and HI was 10.60

It is all a matter of the 22k signal

    In a simple system

    Cheers
