Default VS commodore speedo sometimes not working.

some times the speedo needle will not move from a standing start eg at the lights or something , a tap on the dash allways fixes it but i was just wondering if this is a common fault and if theres an easy fix.

Check your connecters, ive heard the thin cables can rub through and lose contact, sometimes the thin green printed tracks on the back of the cluster can go open circuit which you can check with a multimeter and repair with some foil and tape or paint on circuit track.

Common prob, my vr(?) sticks all the time, just tap the speedo and it and it frees itself
The mechanic at GMH lease said it was a known problem

WD40 is not the the thing to use you must be lucky if you had no problems i can tell you is common problem and can be fixed (meter movent problem in side the cluster ) don't use WD40 you will find the temp gauge is inaccurate it's a different problem (design fault by vdo instruments)
