    Default Energy saver lights

Has any one else noticed that when you put an energy saver globe in the rest of the normal globes start blowing within a few days?

or maybe I am just unlucky ?

Maybe you have my problem, running at a higher than normal voltage thats blowing them.

Post 10 from beer4life was on the money, my problem is living so close to the local power supply transformer and as a result having higher than average voltage to the house.

I haven't noticed a problem. I have them in fittings that tend to get left on a lot by the kids. The rest are normal bulbs and seem OK....

    Cheers

I have lots of problems with the edison screw type. The spring contacts for the centre and side connection need continual bending to provide contact tension. If I wasn't so slack I would just replace them. I believe that by the end of the year the filiament type globes will not be available.

One of our normal ones did actually blow a few weeks after we put in the energy saver ones in the renovated areas, but I think it was probably coincidence - it was pretty old anyway.
