Remote Video Verification of alarm events: Videofied

Hi,

I have been investigating this product from RSI Technologies from France. It has been in Australia for approx 18 months and has had limited take up.

The biggest criticisms to date have been picture quality at night. It is however quite a cost effective solution for remote video verification of alarm events and a number of monitoring companies have adopted the product within their service delivery model. It has been well received in the States.

Can anybody provide some constructive criticism or positives for the product.

Any feedback would be good.

the major weakness is it has a very short range in which it will give reasonable images.
You get what you pay for. Its cheap!

Personally I would not class them as a security solution outside of the domestic market

I have found the range of the system to be better than most. In fact you can do a range test on each device at install. I did an install on a site 12 cameras 150 metres no problem 4 hours.

My reference to range is for image quality, not transmission as I think you are referring.
One of my partners in QLD is able to supply and monitor the Videofied system if you are interested (Naskam.com)
