Another wierd one from XP
Has anyone seen this?
I was cleaning up some old folders deleting files I no longer needed. Single file delete worked fine but each time I tried to delete multiple files it copied them to the folder instead (copy 1). I selected edit-undo delete and it made another copy of the selected files (copy 2). Tried multi delete again and again it copied the files (copy 3). Got to copy 5 before I went back to single delete to get rid of them all.
Checked all the usual suspects .. no viruses ... as yet unexplained.
Any thoughts?

had some thing similar, when selecting a block of files to delete by high lighting the first one then moving to the last one & holding shift and clicking to high light the block of files if I happened to a accidental quick[pinky trouble] double click it copied them a couple of times.
On one of my PC's; I have been using a cordless mouse for added flexibility, the current setting are for too much sensitivity and copy 1's is the result. I used shift delete to fix this but it's kind of permanent , reducing the sensitivity or putting a piece of Grey paper under the mouse works better.
Either use a more clear surface to use your mouse on or adjust the mouse settings to suit the surface a bit better.
