    Default Opentel ODT4200PVR faulty

    Hi,
Does anyone repair the ODT4200pvr SD box or Service manual ?

My unit has just started to play up ie:

    1) no signal or strength on display, cannot tune in any channels.

    2) Have upgraded firmware to V2.27, hdd format and factory default with no results.

    Want to keep it going,

    Any help appreciated

    TIA

    Gav.

    Hi Buddy

I have an Opentel Sat receiver which has been reliable for me. Surely any local TV or radio repair shop should be able to help you with your box if it is faulty..

Also just looking at what you have reported ....what makes you think the unit is faulty? Have you proven this, say with another TV Tuner / PVR connected to your TV signal?

Check the power supply of the stb. I have a Hotchip ODT4000 HD stb and its power supply capacitors were at fault.
Replaced the most likely faulty caps and all was good again.

I'd certainly be checking the power supply as this unit will be of an age that the caps will be going...

I had one that shit itself a year or 2 ago ( wouldnt turn on ) , I may have most of it kicking around somewhere if you need parts ( no guarantee I would have to do some searching ) as I remember pulling the hard drive out of it.
