You will need memory card and a GPS receiver as well as the PDA.
Just download TomTom V6 & Map from
.
Install it as per instruction.
The GPS Receiver, you can get these from ebay, SiRF Star III Bluetooth GPS is what I use & it works well.
Cheers
Hi Guys,
Can GPS be put on these? If so what is the easiest way to do it as I have searched for a few days now and found nothing?
Cheers

Can you see the memory card by going my computer, Mobile Device, SD Memory?
Or using the PDA under setting, system, memory can the PDA see the memory card?
Maybe there is a problem with your SD Card.
If you can copy the tomtom.cab file to any folder on the PDA then you can install it to were ever you have enough memory space.
I currently have it installed on the O2 Atom, your's should work the same way.
cheers
Put it on the SD card using your PC when put it in the PDA and browse to the files on the SD card and install from there.
I have the same phone and active sync doesn't work to well for transferring large or numerous files, I use a sd card reader for big transfers. Small files seem ok but large ones do fail a fair bit, sometimes they do work though.
To get to the sd card through activesync go to explore, my device, storage card
*The storage folder you first see when you click explore isnt the sd card, you need to look for the folder "storage card"
You may also have to change your bluetooth settings in the BTmanager so it's more easily recognised by turning some of the default security off. You might also have to pair the gps to the ppc. Another hint is the voices folder on the storage card hasnt ever worked for me, I put the voices in a the folder provided by the tomtom install in the devices main memory (in "program files" I think).
A few handy programs ive found for the iis are:
coreplayer - plays most media files
gps tuner - good for off road , logging, speedo, tripmeter etc
spb weather - displays a 5 day forecast on the today screen, updates through gprs or activesync
Superalert - the alarms and reminders arent that reliable without this
Spb Pocket plus - gives icon shortcuts on the todayscreen and a nice battery bar indicator.
phonebak - If your phone is stolen and they put their sim in it, this program will send a txt to a preselected number with thier sim details.
Pocket ufo and age of empires are the best games ive played so far on it.
Ps the ppcwarez site seems to be up and running again and xda developers is a great forum for these ppc's, this model is also known as the blue angel.

is there gold contacts on the sd card?
now it just locks up all the time, any ideas guys?
what is locking up?
gps software?
There's a little hole near the microphone to to a soft reset with the stylus point, if you havent found it already ( I had mine for a while and used to take the battery off before i found out about this)
If it keeps locking up, grab what you want off it and do a hard reset, thats hold down the power, record, camera buttons while using the softreset button near the mic.
You could also try updating the rom to a newer version of windows mobile, I havent tried it but others have successfully, it was never supported by the manufacturers and there are some problems with getting parts of the new os working from what ive read. Xda developers has info on it and that waress site for ppc's has the rom downloads.
Id like to know how much battery life you get when you have the gps running, on mine it's about 1 1/2 to 2 hours which isnt that good, I do have a few spare batteries to make it more useful.
This is another good site for cab based software.
I have three of these phones. 2 X Imate PDA2k & 1 X XDAIIs
I use a bluetooth gps in one car and either cradle the xda plugged into a usb ciggy adapter or use a dedicated ciggy lead,
In the other car I have a generic cradle with GPS built in which powers from ciggy plug.
Found you need to use quality sd cards and they go in back to front.
Don't leave on dash in sun. Heat kills the li-on battery and you run the risk of loosing data if the Nimh backup battery isn't too good. Recommend a good 1 or 2 GB card and do regular backups to the card once you set it up the way you like it. If it has an amnesia attack you can retrieve it off the card.
try mio map
have had better results
