With the move by foxtel to high definition next year,
me thinks that the dm500s and lots of other boxes will be getting real cheap on ebay
Look Here -> |
So what 4 Channels of HD the same 4 channels have to be broadcast in standard definition any way
on the other hand dream multimeda are well on to it
Dear beta_tester we have sent you a dm800 HD .....
I wouldnt have thought the 4 channel change over to HD next year would effect the DM500s.
What about my legit sub box...will fox change this over for me and all their other customers?
Has any of our neighbors sat gone high definition, maybe see what
they have to say about the dream 500
When you do things right, people won't be sure that you have done anything at all
Its only 4 channels....not much to get excited about yet
Foxtel will be releasing the IQ2 and customers will have to pay to upgrade to it
There current IQ box is not HD
yes current iQ is not HD capable, but will become the defacto box for future fox installs, not sure when, so current DMs should be OK for some time
The big problem is the FEC, HD requires a setting of 9/10,
Humax HD are now selling on e-bay for something like $400
From what I see Don't get to excited
I have a Fox UEC box and it has no HD specs. And I am not going to pay for HD or 5.1, etc I don't care. I get a picture and I am happy
PS I still have a 68cm CRT TV. It works. and I am happy
PPS. Digital is over rated.
ppps. Yes I know it is all digital. But my 4:3 TV works well
Cheers
Will the 7020 be compatible with the planned changes

Should be just fine, sure HD will load in sometimes after a scan, but when you go to the channel, the message 'Not Supported' will be displayed, OR it will simply scan and not load the channels into the found list whatsoever.
Sat HD is specification 'DVB-S2' (Incl Fox), SD - which 99.9% of us have is 'DVB-S'.
