For interest sake, here is what is inside 'flat coax'
It's a 200mm length. The foil is folded around the insulator tube and sticky-taped tight around the F connectors.
The heat shrink is then clamped around the F connector for strength
2 units landed in Oz from USA for a grand total of $8.00.

Thanks for sharing this with us...it is a real bonus to know about these critters
Could it mean, that on a very tight sliding window or whatever, if the wndow was slammed shut, it would possibly still break the inner core?
I wouldn't call it coax since it's not really coaxial is it?
I'm assuming these are made for the pupose of going around tight bends.
Out of interest what do they claim the charecteristic impeadance to be?
It would be interesting to look at how it effects a sat signal on a spectrum analyzier.
I'm curious too. Any chance of having a look with a spec analyser vk6xlr?
I'd say it would have significant loss.
The impedance would likely vary greatly depending on the centre conductor/shield spacing varying when it's squashed around window frames, etc.
You'd probably even notice considerable roll off of band 5 UHF, let alone what it would do to Ku band signals.
Here's the eBay ad for more details:
Unfortunately, I don't have access to a spec-an for testing
