From a year ago, and may not be relevant now "Copy wubi.exe from the CD and the iso to a windows folder and install from there. No need to mount the iso."
I'm running XP Professional. And I'm a newbie to operating systems other than Windows
dryfry,
You may need to ensure that your ubuntu download wasn't corrupted via the downloading process or when you burnt the ISO to a CD.
Have you checked the MD5 checksum of the ISO you downloaded to make sure it matches the one in the MD5 file from where you downloaded it from?
bloggs
And if you are burning it to disc, use something like imgburn and not nero.
Maybe im barking up the wrong tree here (im a fedora user, have little experience with ubuntu and never heard of wubi) but why not just burn the iso, reboot the pc and install from dvd?
i agree with antus there "wubi" havent seen that bit i would goto the ubutu site and down load it from there and check the box that says md5 checksum so it will check that your download is complete the save it to a folder and burn it to a dvd as an iso file and do a slow burn and varify the data after the burn .i used nero to do this with no hicups.
I've always just booted the live cd up and used the install icon on the desktop, using Cyberlink for burning here.
