Yes there is a way to keep your favorites you have to put the map on and patch it and then patch TomTom home then start up TomTom home and then copy in the back ground to your sd card under the new map the file from your map witch is this one MapSettings.cfg and over wright the one there then while in TomTom home start operate my device and then go to favorites
and then you will see all of them that you had before thats is it just shut down TomTom home and start your TomTom and then thay should be there this worked for me
Cheers
Thats right Carey Bennet!
And here are most of the files you might want keep when you update a map:
In yor map folder : mapsettings.cfg - your favorites and home address (as mentioned before)
*.ov2 , *.bmp and *.ver files - your POI's

Is there a reason why after I patch my map, then I go to show contents on my go, in the map it says it's version 815.2352 and not 830.2352?
and why I can't operate my gps from tomto home any more I get a message saying problem with map, you can not use on this device : Australia-61?
I think you have two maps on your device !
And maybe you have to activate the maps again.
Did you patch the ttsystem or did use a patched one? If you use a original ttsystem you have to patch it.
For Home you need the patched Home dll's.
Here is a to pacht Home ,ttsystem and activate your maps.
I have patched the ttsystem and activated the map, there is only 1, version 815.2352.
I have just patched the home.dll and got to work fine, so the only problem now is the map version.

I am trying to follow all the instructions with no avail!
I have TomTom One 140
Navcore: 8.414
Maps: Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB_830_2307
Using: Keygen 3.1D
Ran the patch, it activated the maps, patched the device, however the Europe maps gives me a message saying that I cannot use these maps on the device.
ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED, I am heading to Europe next week!!
PLEASE HELP!!
