do 360 now have philips drives in them?

I just read an article on xbox-scene that there is new xbox 360 dvdrom drive. a philips drive

I think this is an old article as I was searching for pics of xbox original dvdrom drives so I can identify the drive I have got in my xbox console.

but as I said, I was looking for pics of xbox original dvd rom drives and the article about the philips drives in the 360 came up.

they have been around for quite a while mate, although weren't initially shipped to Oz, we have the BenQ derivative(basically a phillips anyway)

Yeah we have the BenQ VAD6038 drives in most of the Elites. I got one myself and love it, much quieter then Hitachi.

And as you would know Mick nice and easy to flash once you know what your doing as well. I only found out the other day they have a built in protection against a bad flashing too.

I went and got a fair few of them for the site because I knew they would not last to long.
