Its interesting that they plan to rehash some of their old stuff. Overnight WIN (Wollongong) have re-runs of Division 4 from 1974, which bought back some memories, none of which related to the cheesy acting, but hey, its better than the crappy ads on Channel 9 in Sydney. Anyway, Channel 9 here's my wish list:

7AM: Super Flying Fun Show with Miss Marolyn, Marty and Emu
9AM: Here's Humphrey (The original please!)
    10AM The Huckleberry Hound Show
    :
    12PM The Mike Walsh Show
    :
    4PM Cartoon Corner With Skeeter
    5PM Skippy The Bush Kangaroo
6PM News with Brian Henderson (rebadged as The History Hour)
6:30PM A Current Affair with Mike Willesee
    7PM Celebrity Squares
    8PM Black Sheep Squadron
    9PM The Don Lane Show
    11PM Graham Kennedy Show

    Also World Championship Wrestling with Killer Kalhoon, Spiros Arion, Mario Milano (whom I once met);
Roller Derby, Knock and Kirby's infomercial and bandstand would make a fantastic Saturday line up.

Anyone care to add some content to help Channel 9 out, please do so here:-

P.S. My kids (all under 10) have actually seen Marty and Emu live. He's still at it!

I note the information on broadcast area's on that link once again indicates this channel will not yet be viewable to us in regional Australia.

You're welcome to come and live in the city, with the traffic, the smog, the "efnic gangs" knifing and shooting people, the armed robberies every night, the home invasions every second night, the crap public transport system, the insanely high mortgage repayments and rent.

...but we do have a couple of extra TV channels!

Should I mention the floods here in Brisbane?

looks like Ch9 are using their expertise from staff at foxtel. Hey lets put something old on another channel and we'll call it new. No wonder they are losing money.
Maybe they can run yesterdays news as well.

You must have the same infrastructure there as we do in Brisbane.

But seriously, it would be difficult to roll this out all at once, I'm sure it will come. Then you can stay glued to re-runs of re-runs. If thats what you want.

    Hmmm, reruns?? how about the
    Gale Storm Show.
    Tales of the Texas Rangers.
Hollywood Wrestling with Jack Little as the MC.
It Could be You, Jimmy Hanlon and the same Jack Little as above.
    Racket Squad with Reid Hadley.
    Highway Patrol with Broderick Crawford.
    Whirley Birds.
    Jet Jackson.
    The Lone Ranger.
    Lash Larue.
    Hopolong Cassidy
    Gene Autry.
    Roy Rodgers.
    CannonBall.
    Casey Jones.
Wonder I am not google eyed after all these years.

I only live about a 180ks out of Sydney but like Viewer says, we are never even given the courtesy of being considered when anything is rolled out.
And what is on offer most times is only grudgingly made available because if they upset those still in the regional workforce too much, they might find their daily bread and milk that most city people think comes ready made on the supermarket shelves might just not be there one day.

Get real! The Magic Circle Club was on Channel 10 from 1965-67. Channel 9 would need to maintain at least a bit of dignity. Only channel 9 re-runs please people. Besides, they would have to pay royalties otherwise.

    Bandstand with Brian Henderson
    I Challenge the Minister
    Concentration with Terry Dear
Corky and the Kids with Geoff Corke

Channel 9 Pins with Desmond Tester
Take the Hint with Frank Wilson

Tell the Truth with George Foster
    Say When with Jimmy Hannan

The Year was 1962! Daily transmission on Channel 9 commenced 11am and ended typically by 11.30pm

    New free-to-air channel announced
Nine Network CEO, Mr David Gyngell, today announced a brand new multi-channel in Australia, to be called GO!

Coming in August to free-to-air television via channel 99, GO! will be bringing the young, and young at heart, more choice and entertainment than ever before.

The new free to air channel will bring the offering through Freeview TV to a total of 13 channels*.

Mr Gyngell said the GO! channel will offer a range of programs with a focus on the 14 -39-year-old audience demographic.

“Typical programs on GO! will be favourites such as Gossip Girl, The Hills, FRINGE, Terminator - Sarah Connor Chronicles, Weeds, The Wire, Survivor, The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, CSI and hit comedy series Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

“And later this year GO! will broadcast the most anticipated new show of the US television season, The Vampire Diaries, which is about a high school girl torn between two rival vampire brothers.

“This multi-channel is a natural evolution for Nine and for free-to-air television,” Mr Gyngell said.

“And that's the key word - FREE. It means that within weeks our viewers will have access free of charge to a second channel offering quality and a great deal of first-run content through its schedule.

“It's a win for our audience because it offers more diversity and substantially wider viewing choices than ever before, at no cost.”

Mr Gyngell said Nine was delighted with the quality, consistency and variety of content available long-term for the GO! channel, guaranteed by the network's recent renewal of its long-term Warner Bros contract.

“Warners produce the best international programming across-the-board, no question. And Nine viewers will see the best of it both on our existing primary channel and the new GO! multi-channel,” he said.

CEO of PBL Media, Mr Ian Law said: “the launch of GO! is an important step in the evolution of free television in Australia. It means a significant increase in the choice available to viewers and advertisers on free to air television. We think the proposed schedule for GO! is exciting and as a Network we are focussing very much on having two channels with distinctly different content.

“We are already in the market talking with advertisers about our offering of NINE and GO! and it is a very exciting time for Australian television and the PBL Media Group.”

I generally dont watch Channel 9, and looking at this I wont be watching 99 either.

I just hope that they actually broadcast the cricket on one channel and A Current Affair repeats on the other channel when summer hits. I know they wont though.
Coding in C is like sending a 3 year old to do groceries. You gotta tell them exactly what you want or you'll end up with a cupboard full of pop tarts and pancake mix.

in my region, Central Tablelands, we only have WINTV (SD) and WINHD which vacilates between the 'Loop' and occasional ad hoc programing.
So will this offering of Mr Gyngell's pass through to the WIN affiliates ??

There was another announcement about a children/juvenile programming on 9 starting early December so I wondering if this is it based on the 14 to 39 age group mentioned in the press release?

Found this slightly older news article

Gyngell vows Nine will better Ten's One
    Lara Sinclair | July 06, 2009

NINE Network chief executive David Gyngell has boldly declared he will resign if Nine's new youth-focused digital multi-channel does not score double the audience this year of Ten's rival sports channel, One HD.

The channel, rumoured to be named Go! and due to launch by September, is being created with a swag of programs Nine acquired through its new $500 million output deal with Warner Bros.

"I'll give this job away if it doesn't do double the job of One," Mr Gyngell told Media.

"One is the red-haired stepchild of sports rights," he said. "It's the stuff that no one wants."

One, whose key properties include Formula 1 motor racing, netball, swimming and Indian Premier League cricket, is nevertheless consistently averaging higher than one share point -- meaning Nine's new channel needs to rate close to a 3 per cent share by the end of this year to keep Mr Gyngell in a job.

Dear Mr Gyngell, What a wonderful Tale
But it will all be to no avail,
If we in Country cannot see your show,
We will tell you Mr Gyngell where to GO!, GO!, GO!

Sing that to the theme of the BBC comedy, Oh! Mr Porter
