1. Dunno, maybe less prone to interference, maybe stronger signal and better range.
2 Cause its heaps faster for your wired stuff, if all your pc's have gigabit cards in them.
Dual band n routers:
WHy is it good to be able to run both frequencies simultaneously?
Why is it goog to have an integrated Gigabit Ethernet switch ?

What happens if I press alt + F4?
WIll this Gigabit connection deliver 1000Mbps?
Cameron
Dual band makes them compatable with a greater range of existing equipment.
Some can also combine data on the two bands to double the data rate.
Yes, gigabit is 1000 Mbps.
As mentioned, all devices would require gigabit cards to achieve the higher transfer rate, otherwise a device with a slower card will be limited to the speed of that card.
thansk.
Recommended brands for gigabit cards?
What sort of compatibility/fitment criteria should be considered when installing these cards into PCs?
Are these Gigabit normally instlaled into desktop/larger PCs (and not laptops)?

I think the intel chipset cards are the best atm.
Most current pc's(with onboard ethernet) and laptops run gigabit stuff now.
Pc's have been at least for a couple of years and MOST of the laptops I have seen lately.
