Thumbs down Strong Scan missing channels

HI all, i just gave my Strong box its maiden voyage, I have no idea how the dish was aligned at the house i tested it at today, all i can tell you is i had to a blind scan as i had no green signal on any of the pre set sats. After i did a blind scan i got around 300 channels and of course yes some are dupes. I got most things FB* movies, but i did notice i was missing cartoon network, fox classics and MTV. Could this simply be that the dish is not correctly alligned?

    Thoughts and comments please.

Thanks for that, but shouldnt a blind scan have picked up all these? or is there a possibility the dish is off allignment?

    Mate,

If you are receiving channels from the satellite, then your dish is pointing in the right direction...(you may want to peak your LNB a bit). Your problem is most likely that you don't have all the freqs set up..

    Cool

OK, back at mates house its 420pm, anyone who is in the area and sees me on the roof, lol

Problem: If i select optus c1 in the menu the signal is high but quality is very poor, both numbers remain red. I have been up there with my sat finder its Sharp DUAL Universal LNB. The Satfinder is squeeling like a pig, so i tightened off and came back inside, same story all red, if i do a blind scan it starts to pick up frequency starting at 11.367 v/7.465 what ever the 7.465 is! 20 % done 8 Frequencies picked up so far.

So what could be wrong that i am not getting green on what i believe to be C1?

You are not getting enough signal due to dish or lnb skew, better to get mate downstairs and watch signal meter on box rather than thoses whistles if you ask me. They will send you mad sometimes lol

set the LNB frerquency to unversal 09750/10600 22K AUTO in the dish setup menu. don't fiddle with the dish if you get channels.

Blind scan picked up over 300 channels, although some are duplicates, i cant seem to get the 9,10 sbs channels, no biggy but i might need Aurora card or something, im getting plenty of tv to watch, just really curious why i get no good signal for Optus C1 but im blind scanning the channels and getting some, gonna print Astr list and see what im missing. Thanks all to who reply and especially you Tony, thanks man.

if the blind scan is picking up channels, and the manual; scan is not then change the LNB frequency in the Dish Setup menu. guh.
