V3 is just a newer version of the Keygen as there were a few bugs in the older one.
    What setconfig file??
If you downloaded my backup you should be able to use it as it is...
    I think I'm a bit confused here...

    yea might be

the v3 im referring to is the version of tomtom unit
there seems to be 'one' 2nd edition and 'one' 3rd edition etc

my version of home calls my 'one' a 'new edition..what ever that is...

im just trying to find out what the difference is between models and if mine is actually a 3rd edition

The Tomtom ONE new edition is just a tomtom One v1 with a facelift to become a v2. It was the last edition to support the SD memory card slot and was released just over 3 years ago.

One 3rd edition only has 512mb internal memory and no sd card slot.

I used your "Go730_fullbackup_plus_extras" download to update my TTOneV3 to 8.413 and it appears to be working OK, however, I am getting numbers (ie, 7, 59164, 61309, etc) appearing in the top left of the display depending on the screen I am in. Is there a way to remove this? I am using 830.2352 maps. Happy to continue testing but ideally would like to remove these numbers from the display.

The numbers are from the program height ,it show you current height above sea level - if calibrated :-)
    Configuration
When the program is correctly configured, it should only show the altimeter on the navigation screen. If you come to the navigation screen and the only thing you see is a number with one to five digits without a unit, then that is not your height but that screens "id". Remember that id, change to day- or night-mode (whereever you weren't), and remember that number as well. Then connect your TT to your computer and modify the height.cfg in the Height-directory: Change the number behind the "d" and the "n" to the values you got in day- and night-mode. After disconnecting and starting the TT, you should have a unit behind the number in the navigation-screen, that's the height. And it should only be visible on the navigation-screen.

To remove it (in case you really don't like it ) I think all you need to do is remover the folder "height" and the files "Height_8.toc" ant "ttn" in the root folder.
Not 100% sure as I have not removed it yet - but these are the files I installed to get to work...

Used your latter option and removed it. Worked a treat and the numbers have gone.
    Many thanks Downunder 35m :-)

PS: Have also found that I can connect and download from TT Home but cannot operate TT from Home. I get the error 'Problem with Map You cannot use this map on this device: Australia-61' whenever I try to operate my TT from Home (V2.64).

To operate your tomtom using tomtom home, you need to patch tomtom home: This tutorial assumes you are running the latest neavcore 8.413.1237. if not you need to find the patched navcore SE files for whatever version of navcore your tomtom is running.

    1) choose 'operate my one' in home.

    2) if not already done so let tomtom download the required files.

    3) exit tomtom home

    4) Copy over patched "Navcore.8.413.1237@tomtom.com" (found in SE_Navcore.8.413.1237.Basicpack) over exising folder with the same name that tomtom home has just downloaded. Usually found in
    C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\j38fxvj4.default\extensi ons

    5) run tomtom home and you should now be able to operate your tomtom using home

You don't need to download files from Tomtom - usually all required files are included if you download a patched TTHome dll.
If you download the files using TTHome simly use the and use it to patch the original Home dll.
Keygen is not working properly if you use Vista because of the different path for the file.
And again : You only need to download or patch the Home dll if you need to operate your go in Home!! Everything works: mapshare, voices download, pictures ....
I use my Tomtom to navigate while driving - I don't need to use it over my PC to see it on a big screen.
The only real reason to use the function "operate my Go" would be to secure your Tomtom with a password...
I can't understand why everyone is crying : I can't use it in Home
By the way : I don't have any Home dll in use ...

Thanks again Downunder35m . . . . All working so I have stopped sooking now
Dont need a big screen but the PC keyboard comes in very handy when users like me need to re-enter all their lost favourites.

Having updated my TT One V3 using to 8.413 from 8.01 and to 8.30.2305 maps, I find that my TT is now not as responsive and takes longer to start up. Otherwise all else appears ok. Any suggestions to tweak it further?

Well ,you ot a Video player ,a Fuel calcutator ,games ,something to show you the current altitude - what do you need more ?
You can try ttmap ,to find in the thread about offroad navigation if you like to go bush and use you own maps.

Or you can download the new Australian Navcore with support for for Foxtel (crack for the full package with all pay to view channels included)

No . . . I don't need any additional functionality. I'd like to tweak it to improve responsiveness. Happy to forgo some of the peripheral extras for responsivness.

The main problem with your device is the lack of power and RAM .
The ONE has only32mb where the Go models have 64mb.
If you need more speed you can try to deactivate the computer voices.
There are also some "special" Navcores for the ONE model which deactivate unused features to free some RAM.

    Hello,

I'm trying to update my TT ONE 2nd Edition, Navcore 7162.8492 and Australia map 7.20 to Navcore 8.413.1237 and Australia map 830.2352.

First, is this too big a leap? I'm not 100% sure if I can actually acheive this!

When I start my TT after going through all the above steps described (running the KeyGen was the last thing I did), I still get map can't be used errors. I also seem to have lost sound, as I no longer get the start up jingle.

Is there any advice for me?

Try resetting the tomtom by placing a pin in the reset hole on the base of the tomtom for about 10 seconds.

I had to do this when I copied the contents of my tomtom to another tomtotm and it stopped loading after getting map can not be used error, after running the keygen.

You might also like to consider the following configuration files for the TT one v2

These two text files reside in a folder called Config on the tomtom.

    Setconfig.txt
    model:x40light2
    runclean
    viewmsg
    sdid:1
    changedtext Uber TomTom ONE v2
    delgns
    fmoff
    btoff
    rm
    nomsg
    usesetting
    noqfixdel

    Hi Greg,

Many thanks for your response. I made the changes to the above mentioned files, regenerated the map keygen and now the device is resetting itself over and over! Possessed perhaps?? I've also used a pin to reset it and it just turns it off and not back on again?

I've just rerun the infotool and it's come up with:
    P N A :TomTom ONE 2nd Edition
DeviceName:TomTom changedtext Uber TomTom ONE v2@
    BootLoaderVersion:55026
    Serialno.:removed
    DeviceUniqueID:removed
    NavCore:8413.1237
    Current Map:
    Map Version No:0.0

I no longer get the option to pick whether I want to connect to 'computer' either, it just does that. gulp.
