    Default TomTom Navcore 8.413.1237 discussion.

This is the latest navcore available for all stand alone TomTom PNA devices.

Just to let everybody know I have managed to get Navcore v8.413.1237 and Australia v830.2352 maps working on the origional TomTom One XL.

TTS will not work since I guess the limited ammount of memory after loading the latest Navcore.

    Auto Lane Guidence works perfect.

Couldn't get the official TomTom Camera files to show up so I just stick to using the POI Camera and School zone method with a warning sound.

Only problem is that if you are using POI warning sounds there is a maximum setting for sound files to work correctly on the TomTom One XL (32mb memory).

    OGG or Wav (preferably ogg)
    22050 Hz
    50 kbps
    1 Channel Mono.

I found anything higher than this and the when the TomTom plays the first warning sound it will completely loose all sound and you will have to restart the TomTom.

A few other good new features and warnings, that I like in the new Navcore. can't remember off hand as my parents have taken the TomTom with them whilst they travel around Europe/UK.

I found the files for this upgrade on rapidshare but I have no idea how I should install them. There are no instructions included. So you would help me (and probably others) a lot by telling here how you've done it.

    Second that.

Also please provide the link where you got your version of NavCore 8.413.1237 from, to make sure that we are all "on the same page".

    Thanks.

    2 Downunder35m:

The map under the link "Australia_8.30.2305plus_poi" is actually 830.2352, not 2305 (look in the file Australia.pna inside your archive)

Not that it matters... just want to avoid any possible map version confusions...

Here is the new Keygen 2009 v3.1c

These are the two files I used to upgrade my one XL to navcore v8.143.1237.

    SE_Navcore.8.413.1237.Basicpack.rar (20491 KB)

    SE_ttsystem.8.413.1237.rar (7600 KB)

Before starting make sure you have a backup of your current working tomtom navcore and map files. As there are a few folders and favourites that need to be transfered over to the new navcore in order for the new navcore to work. This includes "voices" and "ephem" (which contains the quickfixgps files. without this tomtom will not download new quickfixgps updates). Mapsettings.cfg (this contains all your stored favourites).

I found that when using mapsettings.cfg from the prevoius map version it was incompatable as the favourites were not showing up. This is because tomtom keep changing the format of this file on new map versions.

To migrate old mapsettings.cfg to work with new map version. You need to do the following.

    1) take a backup of your MapSettings.cfg file from your current map version folder before you replace the map folder.

    2) add the new map to your sd card / internal memory and patch as usual.

    3) copy your old MapSettings.cfg file into the new map directory.

    4) keep your TT connected and load up Home

    5) choose 'operate my one'.

Patch tomtom home if you have already done so skip to step 8.

    6) if not already done so let tomtom download the required files

    7) Copy over patched "Navcore.8.413.1237@tomtom.com" (found in SE_Navcore.8.413.1237.Basicpack) over exising folder with the same name that tomtom home has just downloaded. Usually found in
    C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\j38fxvj4.default\extensi ons

    8) once the TT interface loads in home, choose:
    - 'change preferences' -> 'manage favourites'
    - your favs will be listed. Click any one of them.
    - click 'rename'
    - leave the current name as it is and just click 'ok'

    9) eject your TT and disconnect from USB.

10). start it up and your favourites should now be available as before.

Thought some of you might benefit from my experiences with installing this SE release on a TomTom ONE XL. But can be used with any Tomtom model.

This tutorial assumes you are starting with a completely blank SD card or internal memory and have made a complete backup of your existing system files.

    1. Downloaded the 8.413.1237 ttsystem basicpack rar files and extracted the files and folders to the root directory of your SD card or internal memory. ()

    2. From the root folder of the tomtom extract the switchfiles.zip to the current folder. You will get a new folder called config containing 4 files.
edit the 4 txt files with the information appropriate yor tomtom models. Especially the Version.txt amd Setconfig.txt files. See "readmenot.txt" on tomtom for correct setting to use for your tomtomt model. I have included samples appropriate for the tomtom one xl below.

    3. From your previous TomTom installation backup, copy over the Voices, Raster, ephem, help an VocalizerTTS (if available) folders over to the root directoy of the TomTom..

    4. Created folder called Australia on SD card and copied map files to it If installing new maps also copy over mapsettings.cfg file to new map folder if you want to preserve your favourits.

    5. Removed usb cable from TomTom and reboot/turned it on so that ttgo.bif gets created.

    6. Reconnect usb cable to tomtom and connect to pc. Answer YES.

    7. Extract keygen v3.1c and run "tomtom3". Select make map Keys to generate new dct files for your newly installed maps. Exit Keygen.

    8. Removed usb cable. Confirmed TomTom boots up boots up and you can select Australia from the map choice.

See my post above on if they are not showing up.

Anyway, for those interested this is my Setconfig.txt file from the Config folder. Suitable for a ONE XL.

    Hi Greg,
I am struggling to understand para (2)
QUOTE...2. From the root folder of the tomtom extract the switchfiles.zip to the current folder. You will get a new folder called config containing 4 files.( OK so far.)

I have looked at readmenot.txt in SE_ttsystem.8.413.1237.rar and it only confuses me!!!

It does not tell me what to edit the four text files with.
My TT is a XL 30 series .

Should I be able to find this text file on my tomtom

    Regards David

I asume that this is the tomtom you have

AKA TOMTOM XL v2.- Includes Text To Speech.

Only The setconfig and version.txt need to be edited. The other two files Model.txt and Cycle.txt are not needed so they can be deleted. The settings should be exactly the same for the one xl above with the additional command ttson.

    so

    Delete your Device ID!!!!!
Never post your ID anywhere - can be used by Tomtom to give you heaps of trouble!
And here is nice to try for the fun of it.

If your not sure on how to update the navcore to the latest v413 then the easiest thing to do is just update the maps.

Since your current navcore is v7.903.9183.

The latest map version for your tomtom is Australia v830.2290

links to maps and keygen can be found in this forum.
