Default thoughts on Nokia 6110 navigator

    Gday all,
just thought id put my 2 cents worth in about the 6110,after having an E65 for the last 4 months,i decided to give that to the Mrs and get a 6110,first impression is that the phone feels very poor quality in build compared to the e65 which feels very nice and sturdy,im not sure if its the bulky plastics on it and also the keys feel a little unsturdy, apart from that it seems to be a great phone,i used tomtom 6 on my e65 and now having used route66,it seems to run a lot smoother(i like tomtoms user interface a lot better)The software seems to run very quick and with the gps, using it without A-GPS, it still takes no longer to get a fix than my holux m1000b bluetooth gps reciever does.battery life seems to be about the same as the e65,not that crash hot,but when using a car charger, does it really matter.over all a nice phone.
    thanks

    I have a 6110 and am a big fan.

As long as you disable a-gps so there are no extra data charges.

You can also load Nokia maps from around the world for free, you wont get navigation, but you get all the maps and it will do a simulation navigation.

My only problem is short battery life, but a car charger helps.

I've had my 6110 for about a week and am loving it....

just a question but, whenever I start the GPS application I get the
    "key synchronization needed. Continue.?"
    message.... is this normal..?

I've disabled the assisted GPS option.. Is this a map related issue..?

Are you by any chance an Optus customer?

There seems to be a fault with the Optus/route 66.

Someone was telling me about it. Will try to find out more.

I had the same problem just install route 66 on comp, plug your phone with the usb cable supplied and select data transfer and let route 66 to update.

If that don't work uninstall with in route 66 software (select from phone) and install again.

After a quick update of the route 66 sync software and reloading of the Oz map if working great, no annoying message anymore....

you disable it under settings, phones settings ,general and then its under positioning ,mine takes about 2 mins on cold start to find a signal without agps on which isnt too bad.
