Help with N*S and SK* NZ. Is it Possible?

Hi all....I'm new to this (first post) and would like to know if anyone has their SK* card working in a DM500s for New Zealand broadcasts......and if so how? I'm supposing the other Kiwis frequent this forum.....and I didn't find a NZTech forum so here goes.....

I've been pulling my hair out for some days now trying different cams etc.

What image and cam do I need and do I need to manually configure any files?

Please remember this is my first time doing this....so a clear response would be most appreciated.

I can flash the box, ftp....and all that good stuff. Just want to get more joy out of the Dreambox than Freeview! I can do that with my Sky box and my Maxplus.

Please help?

Newcs & Mgcamd should work a treat for the Kiwi's.

Been trying Pli Iolite and Gemini images. Different versions with different cams. Just don't know if I'm missing something or it's just not possible!

Hi rajan...what I was saying is that I can get the Freeview channels with my Sky box and the Maxplus. I know Maxplus can't do NDS. That's why I'm now trying the Dreambox

what version S*y card do you have ? eg rev 45

There should be a number on the card starting with digits 45*******

Nothing starting with 45.......no 45 anywhere.

so what starting numbers do you have ?

The big number over the barcode is of the format 01 XXXXXXX

2 digits ...then 8 digits

the first two being the 01 as above.

remember there are different flavours of NDS and these different flavours require different things.

If you have a dvb-s pci card, drop your SkyNZ card into an app (progdvb, dvbdream) that has the NDS 1.0 cam emulator in it and read the box key and camkey details.

Now use these details with CCcam 2.0.7 - wish you the best of luck as my indovision card (same version as SkyNZ) does not work to date in the DM box with any great success, but does nicely on the pci card now, so just a matter of time.

Jonc, if I wanted to do this what type of DVB-S PCI card should I get? One that has a USB CI slot or one that has a CI slot on the card? Does progdvb etc support either? What kind do you use?

Thanks for the info jonc. Just looking at pci dvbs cards with ci slots here in NZ. Kinda expensive at $350 kiwi just to find out if it works! Might bite the bullet when the frustraton becomes to much though. Thanks again for the info.
