Could someone tell me if the map I attached should work in ttmaps? For some reason it mentions mrafrica. Which is unsupported. I converted this map using Global Mapper 10 using File > Export Raster and Elevation Data > Export ECW file.

    Thanks!

Well there is no map attached ,but the MRAFRICA problem is known in Global Mapper.
You might need to correct the ECW header manually using ECW header editor from - you need to register to download the program but it is free.
Open the the ECW file with the editor and change MRAFRICA to the right projection that you used - I assume MRWORLD or MRWORLD2 should work.

To give a final work wor I would need the Projection and Datum details of the original map and a sample of the converted ECW file.

I'm so sorry for not actually attaching any files. Not sure what the heck's wrong with me today. Thanks for the hint. I'll give that a go. In the mean time, here are the files: (1.69 MB)

    Original OziExplorer Files:
    map-small.ECW
    map-small.map

    After Conversion with GM:
    map-small-GM.ECW
    map-small-GM.ERS
    map-small-GM.eww
    map-small-GM.prj

I don't think the map-small is a original OZI file.
EPSG:7059 is the Datum and EPSG:3785 the Projection in the file header but the .map file gives this :
    WGS 84 , Mercator
Where the GM ECW give WGS84 and MRAFRICA.
If the GM ECW is correctly calibrated I suggest use the ECW header editor to change MRAFRICA to MRWORLD.
The .prj file gives the right info for Datum and Projection ,so it might just be the "mrafrica-bug" ...

    Default Two Maps

I am running TTMaps on GO730 and it works great.

Question: If I have loaded two separate maps, in separate subdirectories, and they happen to cover the same area on part of the map, and the first time I turn TTMaps on is in the area where both maps show the same area, which map is used? And can I change to the other map if I want to?

    Hoping someone can answer.

    Yes it should work...

You have to have the maps in separate folders, like "Australia" folder & "New Zealand" folder.

In the menu of the tomtom you see "Manage Maps" here you can switch between maps you have installed

I was talking about TTMaps not TomTom maps. And I followed your advice anyway and put the different maps on separate cards. Worked.

    Thanks for the tip.

    @ Downunder,

    I have TomTom XXL 540.

Would there be any chance of getting HEMA maps of Qld, including Fraser Island, Moreton Island and North Stradbroke Island already converted to use in TomTom?

Or can I use TTmaps on Primo, Primo is WinCE 6 based.?

    Thanks, bondy99

Ttmaps only works on the TT's, for the CE based units you still need proper software, like OziExplorer.
Would be the better option anyway as ttmaps only supports ECW maps and not all AU maps have a Datum/Projection that is included in ttmaps.

    Default Lederderg.ecw error

    Hi Downunder,

I have been using TTMaps and your ecw maps for a while now and they are great.

When I try to Index the Maps for Lederderg.ecw I get this TTMaps error:
WARNING Unsupported projection (WGS84/MRAFRICA) for maps Lederderg.ecw

I understand this is a header problem but am unable to source and download the file ECW Heaqder Editor from the EDRAS site or anywhere else on the internet.

Ca you help please? CAn you modify the header for me or provide a link to download your copy of the header editor file.

    Thanks in advance

    Chris.

    Thanks Downunder.

I modified the header and TTMaps now indexes the file correctly.

We will be visiting the area for the cup weekend so will see if it now works.

    I appreciate your help.

    Regards

    Chris
