Default Work harder, & buy one of these baby's

Sorry for those on dial up, but it is too sweet a ride to just put a mini sized photo up.
Sorry bout the picture quality it was taken with my phone, I was at the dealer buying a car, but not one of these.
9 only coming to Australia, at $730000 + what economic downturn?

Id have to agree with Zed, the sound of a Lambo in anger is something else.

Then again a car for under 40K with a supercharger/turbocharger brings so much more satisfaction when leaving them for dead at the lights.

So much more gratifying if running on LPG...its like stabing them and twisting the knife too.

There are some pretty quick affordable cars out there.

Reminds me of a few years ago when i took on a BMW M3 around some serious bends in a Kia Rio........Ok so the other spoilt brat tried but couldn't drive for shit but when we stoped at the lights i couldnt stop laughing while yelling $12990, drive away.

I wonder if the Govt tax rebate applies to these super expensive cars?

You've pushed some great buttons there, still haven't told her about the first one and she reckons I need to get that squeaky fanbelt fixed on the daily driver....

Met your mate PW again today, getting them to do the scheduled services so that warranty is hassle free.

Looks like the 19 inch ROH with soft compund rubber will be the way to go.

How does "Yokohama 225/40ZR19 93(Y) Advan Sport tyres " sound Godzilla?

Gotta get in before the 30th june...I hear next year's a shocker...

If im saving 730K for a car, it won't be a Merc, what use to make me laugh was Merc owners getting around in Sydney thinking they are part of an elite society, when really the same car they spent 250K on are used as Taxi's in Faluja

Give me the McLaren F1 any day.

i think you will find that the taxis in Faluja & Bejing might look like a merc, but the build quality and the performance and straight out of a Chinese factory, that makes Merc for this purpose alone.
I doubt the Chinese factory makes any SL65 Blacks

Yeah, that is a V12 biturbo. It is a convertible, but opening the roof is not an option, the chassis would buckle under torque.

Great all weather rubber, may i suggest 245 rather than 225 for a little extra grip.

Another great tire...Toyo proxes T1R, its in the same league.

If you want the ultimate in dry grip and dont care about mileage Toyo proxes R888. Be warned they grip like hell in the dry, dont last long and are usless in the wet.

Check that it wont rub your guards before buying wider rubber.

Be warned too much extra width does give bump steer where a pot hole may make the car want to wander because it runs over the hole on the edge of the rubber forcing the car to turn slightly.
You end up holding the steering a little harder waiting for the car to skate off in either direction.
Also be warned that wider stickyer rubber wears you steering and suspension a little faster too.

Me...i run Continental Sport Contact II Vmax (255, 40X17), only good for warm weather though....hopeless in the wet.

They were the first tire rated to 360 kph.

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVrfQJj3xhs]YouTube - Continental Sport Contact 2 VMAX[/ame]

Note at the end it states "Engineered in Germany". Its not where they are made....Thailand i think someone told me (after i got them).

Next time im going for the Yoko's or Toyo's also, a better price, better in wet weather. although a softer rubber/less mileage.

Yokos and Toyo's are rated to 300kph i believe, more than enough for the odd burst/trackday.

Well I suppose it’s a good time to see who has been the quickest on this thread.

For me…320kmh on a Hayabusa with a turbo off a VL Commodore! It was a salt lake bike that does waaaaaaay over this speed but it was just too scary to go any faster than that…on a ehem, public road anyway.

Any other takers for the dumbest person on the thread!

I'll put my hand up for WAAAAAY over 200kmh down Canterbury Rd, Melbourne one evening long ago(Actually it was somewhere around 2 - 3 am) in a rather well souped up LX Hatchback Torana I used to own.

Exactly how fast, I aint tellin
(Put it this way, the V8 was redlined at 7000rpm and it was doing it, it had 14 x 7inch wheels and 265/50 x 14 tyres and a 2.75:1 ford 9" diff, You figure it out)

One final bit of info, the gearbox ratio was 1:1 in top (4th) gear.

155MPH on a highway out of Santa Fe New Mexico. in an Eagle Talon AWD turbo. If you going to deliver a car, make sure it goes fast!

Australian cars are speed limited these days. 250kmh.

a long time ago when I was a dumb kid I used Canterbury Rd and Swansea rd Lilydale as my top speed test

    VL Turbo 205kmh

    KE70 Corolla with a 4agze 210kmh

    XF Panelvan 190kmh

FJ60 Landcruiser with a 350 chev 160kmh (that was scary!)

VW Passat 190kmh on the Hume near ACT

AE93 Corolla completly stock apart from a set of KYB shocks and king springs 215kmh down the hill coming back from Marysville

and the winner for me was being a passenger in an S3 Audi doing 240kmh out the back of Upway

now if you really want to get stupid we could talk about our end to end times over the Black Spur
