    Default tv reception

Hi, Im wondering what to do to improve adelaide tv signal in kadina, moonta and wallaroo because sometimes we cant get it well and i want to improve it. is there ways to improve it?

Which antennas good out of a CA16 And DY14 antenna because a ca16 is heavy to put up but i will use that if i have to.

in moonta im using a kingray mhw34 booster and a ca16 and uhf antenna and in kadina i use the same antennas but with a hills q amp.

    Default DY14 Antenna

HI, just wondering if anyone has sizes and dimensions of each arm for a hills dy14 antenna and a atvd18 or a hills dy14 antenna and a atvd18 antenna that they can measure up because i want to have a go at making a antenna to look like a dy14 hills antenna and a atvd18 antenna.

if anyone has sizes and dimensions or antennas that they can measure up and draw out on paper can you please email it to shonky2@dodo.com.au or computers10@dodo.com.au so i can look at them to use proper designs.

also does anyone have diagrams to wireup tv antennas for all of australia. if so can you please email them to the same email addresses

thanks for your time and i look forward to replies and sizes

just find out the dipole length of the frequency you want to receive, and if you need to copy the lengths of each element.

probably not. if you want to home make an antenna, you will need to know which band you want to receive, UHF, VHF band III, FM radio band II, or VHF band I? once you now that, google for the necessary dipole length for that frequency. perhaps measure the antenna yourself?

BigMick000: I live in a low valley in Queensland. The Big Pond receiption is very low so is my Tv reception.
I have asked my home line company to install a IDSL, n now it is working fine.
But my TV reception is good on the Standard set top Box, but the picture is not nood via my HD set top box which I have mentioned in other head in this forum.
I have also inserted a TV booster on my TV aerial, it has not helped.Still the picture is freezing, most of the time.
Can u pl guise me.? pl.

Jay Polra Can you get your hands on another HD set top box to test
As I have seen so many boxes just can't cope with the HD signal
And they just keep freezing and another box just works fine

    cheers

Yep, agreed with best5less. The cheap boxes i've seen are crap and not worth having. The HD tuner inside Sony TV's seem to be great.

I've been to installation where people are about to spent a small fortune on mast and antenna upgrades, then dropped a good HD STB or TV in and there haven't needed to buy a thing. As it just worked fine.

Admin, I think this thread could be closed as its 18 months old and if Shonky12 hasnt fixed his/her reception by now, it never will be.
