    Default Genesis SR04 (TIBET) DVR

    Hi Guys

Have a DVR in the field, low cost, purchased from security m.

I have updated the firmware, and have issues using the damn thing.
The GUI is VERY slow to respond to anything asked of it, what should be a 2x click turns out to be a very frustrating 10+ clicks.

Anyone come across this, or know how to overcome it?

The unit is recording at "high" quality recording, 7FPS per channel, and running at D1 Resolution (704x576)

    Cheers.

Try removing ALL Bnc connections including spot monitor, so all you are left with is DVR + VGA Monitor + KB and mouse. This will eliminate any chance of a ground loop error which can cause problems on DVR's, check following thread

If this fails, then I would be looking at the HDD, it could be a read/write fail. Try these and get back to us.

Tried that, stripped everything bar the monitor, still running like a dawg.
Did a firmware flash, same thing.

    Might try a different hdd.

    What version is it running?
Have you updated XP with SP3 etc?
I have about 200 of these machines out there and apart from occasional hardware failures (power supplies usually) they work ok.

Yeah, I would look at HDD first, then maybe memory modules.

Soz Keef - confused it with the Tibet TS04 - runs on XP.

    Was it a USB mouse?

Yeah, that would do it. I have found the USB bus if stalled affects the overall performance of any PC. This is because the USB device will send and receive packets of data similar to a LAN, and if the device (in this case a mouse) does not send back an ACK packet it will continually try to resend the handshake packet bogging down the data bus, hence the 10 mouse clicks you described.

Luckily it wasn't something serious like a HDD.

    Default Genesis SR04 (TIBET) DVR

    Hey guys,

I have Genesis SR04 (TIBET) DVR old system, which I forgot my admin password, I disassembled the hdd and tried to see my files, but they are encrypted files, then I assembled my hdd and powered up the system. Now I have no "menu" nor system login and only have four divided monitors. How can I recovery my system or decrypt my data ??
I hope to have very useful information on my hard drive since my house was robbed.

    Thanks in advanced
