    Default PSP games on a PS3 ???

Bought my son a ps3 for xmas, mainly because the new Ratchet and Clank-tools of destruction was only a ps3 release.
Iv'e read about ps3 games running on psp but can it work the other way ??
Now my son wants Ratchet and clank- size matters, only on psp as far as I know.

I know what the confusion is, is the "Portable content" from ps3 games. Its been hyped by Sony (and the minions of websites that republish media reports without critising them, eg all big game sites) as playing ps3 games on the psp, when its just passing a signal down or using them like the "pocketstation" did with the playstation1.

Either that or its using the ps3 to transfer ps1 games to the psp.

As for psp games on the ps3, it wouldn't be possible because there is no way for the ps3 to read the UMD format. As for illegally, hmmm it might be possible but there is no way to run emulation on a ps3 at the moment, so that would be a NO. Unfortantely the only way would be a PSP (or maybe a PC emulator, but I havent looked into that).

Flipping thrught the ps3 menu, you can find a option for "other os"
I had delusions of dumping the psp firmware in it and seeing what happened.
The ps3 manual mentions something about smaller disks,I only assumed it was refering to psp disks, maybe movies??

It's possible to play original Playstation (PSX) games on the PSP.
You're probably mixed up with that.
Sony planned to sell PSX ISOs to the public through the online shop that
is accessed with a PS3, but their own emulator was hacked to run ISOs
ripped by the public, so that put a dent in their plan.

PS3 games on the PSP can never happen, the PSP is barely on par with the PS2.

I don't see why PSP games couldn't appear on a future console in the same manner,
but no console has had the success of the original Playstation, so I don't
know if it would be worth the effort for the manufacturer.
    Art.

I forgot to mention a feature called Remote Play that allows you to play PS3
games through your PSP, but the game is actually running on the PS3.

Not sure if this helps as your ps3 might not be backwards compatible but Size Matters is coming out on the ps2 according to Gamefaqs (it has a euro date which usually means Australia a week later)
