Ngrab Poor Playback on DM500

Hey all,

Had a good session with Ngrab and mounted drives.

What I have noticed is the start ngrab is working fine and is dumping a satifactory mpg. Yet when I play it back through the same DM that I recorded it from, it is unwatchable.

Yet if I kick off the recording and hit the down arrow to start the file from the beginning (I do this a couple of times) the file may eventually play through one time without any skips or audio synch issues. Doesnt happen all the time.

I just get poor streaming to the DM. I am running Pli Iolite 08. My mounted drive is CIFS with rw,soft,udp,nolock under /media/hdd.

Network is just basic 100mbs hard wired.

Want to get this working now before footy season starts.

Don't use Ngrab. Try setting it up as per this thread

Thanks Warbo pointing me to that thread did get me recording and viewing smooth video.

I needed to set the r and w sizes as I didnt specify these at all for my share.

Dropped the values to 4mbs and she runs flawlessly.

I tried recording football matches from my Dreambox 500 to PC hard disk, but it is coming abnormal. It records one second and then passes 20 seconds. for example you will find the time 24.30 then suddenly 24.50 and like this all the match.

Is there a way to adjust the streaming to record normally like movies? Will installing a PC card correct the problem?
