    Default Broadband in Perth..Langford/Parkwood area.

gday guys, I'm wondering if anyone has Got some form of broadband in this area..Its a black spot for copper broadband..too far from the Cannington exchange(I'm at 4.8 km) .I know i can get wireless but i have heard its pretty much useless, also when i spoke to the sales rep she asked if there were any large trees in the area! which didn't fill me with confidence.

So if someone has wireless working in this area could they post how good/bad it is..which isp/costs etc.
I suspect i will stick with dialup and wait for FTN to happen.
    thanks for any info
    steven.

you're not the only person i know from langford who can't get any form of adsl. the guy i know has virgin broadband and always gets >512kbps

might be worth doing the 'free broadband' deal with them until your situation changes.

Broadband Net () have a wireless access point in Canning Vale that may cover you.

I am using their service in Albany for the last 3 months and it has been reliable.

    Regards,

    Wrexy

You should give 3 mobile internet a try. They do pre paid.

But its speed does die in the arse at night around 9 to 11pm then suddenly jumps up again.
    I'm also in Langford.
    Also Optus

And Tel$tra Next G wireless broadband works well but their pricing sucks.

Hmm I'm getting on average about 30 to 150 Kb per second. But I sometimes crack 1 Mb/sec using Limewire to download mp3's.
Much cheaper than dial up and goes abit better.

Its not super fast but its better than dial up.The good thing is if you don't like it you can take it back .

There is a chance that if enough residents in the area sign a petition for telstra to upgrade the copper wire system and network that they are bound by law the fix it so if anyone has any ideas on how to do this I would love to sign my location is Yale rd near Murdoch rd and we have been not been able to get asdl for 6 years that we have been here
