Yes I have all 7 pages in my cache.
Infact I have most pages visited in the last 12 months in my cache as I have changed my internet settings

You may have it on your computer
in explorer select file - work offline
then go into history and view pages. when it asks, stay offline and it will load pages from your cache.
If it continues to ask to go online it may not be in your cache.

dont forget to change back to working online
    hope it helps

Thanks Moof,I thought I had it then, but on checking my history(never worried about it normally on vista),the settings were 2 weeks,Ive since changed that for the maximum as I look at lots of things, save some but generally rely on the content to be on-line forever(silly me). I'll wait to see what the data recovery process brings. When my card activity was at the maximum (pre iredo 2 and seca2) I kept truckloads of paper files with codes etc and their now in big boxes cluttering up my spare space so I stopped saving and printing out.

Part 2 - Latest Australian maps:

    1. Just extract TomTom.zip into the "tomtom" folder to the root of your SD card.
    2. Then extract Australia-Map.zip into the "Australia-Map" folder also to the root of your SD card.
    3. "Create shell.ini in the root of your SD card containing the line "\sdmmc\tomtom\TomTom Navigator.exe".
    4. Then go for gold!!

If you tried the above on your DX unit and got No Maps Found error, then try the following:

    1. Create the My Documents folder your SD card.
    2. Within the My Documents folder, create another folder called Australia-Map.
    3. Ensure the maps are placed in \My Documents\Australia-Map folder.
    4. In the registry, edit the path of My Documents in HKLM\System\Explorer\Shell Folders from "My Documents" to "\SDMMC\My Documents".
    5. Then use the Standby button rather than the On/Off button. Power back on and bingo, the registry changes should remain in place and not get reset.
    6. Fire up Tomtom, and SUCCESS - it should find the maps and await a GPS signal!

i got to this stage but the gps doesn't find a sat signal ? anyone know the answer?

What would you like to know??

It's WinCE 5. I've got MioMap 3.3 TTS, TomTom, iGO 2006, Route66 to run on it. My preference so far is Mio. I've just aquired Destinator to try too.

It also plays mp3's and movies. Can also run CE games.

You can also get it with TomTom preinstalled and a 2GB SD card for US$165. (It used to be US$158) Then you just need to put the Aussie map on the SD card.

As Kdub asked, a brand and source?
Also is it battery based? how is the battery life, and how big is the screen?
Would you also be able to PM/post instructions and file locations for the 4 GPS Progs?

    Thanks,
    -Suff

    It's from Deal Extreme.
    US$138 inc delivery
    US$165 inc delivery.

I grabbed the cheaper one just before christmas. Worked out to be AUD$161 at the time. It took about 2 weeks to get to Melb from time of placing order.

Have a look at the and forums for all your GPS maps and apps

Battery isn't too bad. Screen is 3.5inch 320x240. It comes with a wall charger, car charger, suction mount, ear phones.

thanks crazy .I got it all going now so for anyone with the cobolt receiver follow the steps above and use the app that crazy helped with to edit the registry file.

but if you want to go back to the destinator you must once again edit the registry back to what it was

    to get the gps signal

    BYO map

Extract to your SD card. Includes a shell.ini that runs miomap via the navigate button.

I was asked by a friend to set up a DX GPS, the newer rounder one, and to change the label and operation of the icons on the main menu like I did on my older squarer unit, with the instructions provided by covert in the old thread
I do not use the Ebook or mp3 so they load Tom tom and route66.
I remember that there were people with the newer unit who couldn't access the files to do this.

I have since found that there is a totally hidden part of the flash memory where these files live."Residentflash2"

Only do this if you know what you are doing and I am not responsible if you make your GPS innoperable. Make sure you back up all files in the "Residentflash2" before changing any of them

To access these files you will need a program like commander.exe (a file explorer for CE) and a keyboard like Virtualkeyboard.exe

Select and open Residentflash in Commander. In the address bar it will look like this \Residentflash\
using your keyboard add a 2 so it looks like this \Residentflash2\
and it will display your files in the hidden drive, most importantly the directory YFAP20

I hope this will help the people with the newer DX GPS customize there menu system.

I think there will be a registy change to fix this so the drive is always visible and will let you know next week when I again have access to one of these newer units.
