Dude you need this program GetDataBack for NTFS but you need another harddrive connected so you can save your data to it, you CANNOT save to the same drive you are recoverying from OK.
First up dude check your drive out to see if you have more then one patition, as your vista recovery data maybe on that and its just a matter of using your recovery disk to restore it ???.

    Ok boys. DOne some work.

I was able to insert this HDD into a USB caddy and run it from 2 different desktops - 1 with XP and 1 with Vista.

One partition now has XP and the other has what I think still may have VISTA..

I cannot see any of my data files on either partition.

I ran a data recovery program before and observed previously deleted files brought up.

What I want to know is if I have reformatted this HDD, would I still be able to view deleted files from past?

If yes, does this mean I stil lmay able to recover files that I have not deleted but lost due to a possible re-format.??
